Spring has arrived in Fremont, to celebrate, the Niles Main Street Association is hosting the Niles Wildflower Art & Garden Show on Sunday, April 26th, from 10am to 3pm in Fremont’s historic Niles district. Be sure to stop by the California Nursery Garden Club’s sale inside the Historic Nursery, the entrance is on Niles Blvd @ Nursery Ave. The garden club members will be selling beautiful plants, T-shirts, garden pots, and leather garden gloves. You might discover the perfect addition to your spring garden.
While you’re there, take a stroll through the display garden, where historic roses, blooming shrubs, and trees flourish—some dating back to when the nursery was still in operation.
The California Nursery Historical Park, is now a 20-acre City of Fremont park, it was once part of the 463-acre California Nursery Company, founded in 1884. It officially became a park in 1972, and a master plan for its development was approved in 2017.
To become a volunteer, please visit the California Nursery Garden Club on Mondays & Thursdays 10am-12pm. And during the school year, the first Saturday of each month. Learn how to care for the plants in the historic nursery.
